Name: Riley Roesch

Future School: Eastern Washington University

School Mascot: Eagles

Location: Cheney, WA

Why you chose that school: I chose this school mainly due to the environment that I experienced during my official visit; the coaching staff was extremely welcoming, and the student athletes already in attendance at the school had nothing but good things to say. Eastern Washington is located in an area that fits what I was looking for, so not only was the school and team a selling point, but the town around the school was also a major component.

Intended Major/Area of Study: Psychology

Sport: Soccer

Most Excited For: Something that I’m most excited for is going about life outside of my hometown or with my family right down the street. When looking for a school, it was important to me that it not be in California because I wanted to experience something beyond my life in San Diego, so I can’t wait to see where that takes me!

Accomplishments with Patriot Athletics and Club/Travel Athletics:

  • 2026 High School Season: Most Valuable Player, All-Western League First Team, Lady Patriot Award

Cumulative High School GPA & Academic Accomplishments:

  • 2022-2026: Honor Roll
  • 2026 High School Season: Academic Excellence
  • Overall GPA: 4.2

Favorite Patriot Athletics Memory: My favorite high school memory was winning Western League this past season. Another favorite memory of mine was getting to play with two of my best friends that I’ve known from a young age, and it was so important to me to have fun with them on the field before graduating.

Words of advice for future Patriot Athletes (What does it take to get to the next level?): Cherish every moment you get to play the sport you love; there are times of anger and frustration that I have definitely felt during my youth athletic career, but knowing that one day I will no longer be able to play the sport that I love has kept me going as far as I can. Getting to the next level takes a level of love and commitment for what you are doing; without those, the desire to succeed diminishes.

People you would like to thank: I want to thank my parents for being a constant inspiration and pillar in my life to keep me going;  to my brother and sister, who have shown me time and time again what hard work and dedication earn you. There are a million coaches, trainers, physical therapists, doctors, and friends who have helped me get to where I am today, and without them, I might not have reached the next level. I’m eternally grateful for those who have pushed me to accomplish my goals.
