Name: Abby Weiss

Future School: Colorado State University, Pueblo

School Mascot: ThunderWolves

Location: Pueblo, Colorado

Why you chose that school: I chose Colorado State University Pueblo because it felt like the right balance of competitive soccer, a strong and supportive program, and a community where I could really see myself growing on and off the field. I also love the location and everything that comes with living in Colorado, especially being close to the mountains, so I can go snowboarding, hiking, and see new places!

Intended Major/Area of Study: Psychology

Sport: Soccer

Most Excited For: I’m most excited to meet new people, compete at a higher level of soccer, and have the opportunity to travel to states I’ve never been to before through the program! I’m also excited to live in a new environment, become more independent, and make new memories both on and off the field.

Accomplishments with Patriot Athletics and Club/Travel Athletics:

  • CIF D2 Championship 2022
  • CIF D1 Championship 2025
  • D3 Southern Regional Championship 2025
  • Varsity captain 2025 & 2026
  • Lady Patriot Award 2023 & 2024
  • Defensive Player of the Year 2025 & 2026

Cumulative High School GPA & Academic Accomplishments:

  • Overall GPA: 3.95
  • Honor Roll 2023-2026
  • 2023-2026 High School Season: Academic Excellence

Favorite Patriot Athletics Memory: My favorite Patriot Athletics Memory was taking a charter bus with the soccer team to Warren to play in the CIF Regional Championship and winning 5-0.

Words of advice for future Patriot Athletes (What does it take to get to the next level?): My biggest advice for future Patriot Athletes would be to stay persistent even when things get hard or don’t go the way you planned. Challenge yourself to do more than you think you’re capable of, because that’s how you improve and get to the next level.

People you would like to thank: I’d like to thank my family for supporting me before and after every game, and always being there for me after losses that brought me down. I’d especially like to thank my parents for their endless support throughout my soccer journey, all of their support and work they’ve done for me behind the scenes, and for always pushing me beyond my limits and believing in me. I’m also really grateful for my friends and teammates for always being there for me and for constantly pushing me and challenging me to become a better player and person every day. Finally, I’d like to thank my boyfriend Matias for going to all of my games, always hyping me up, and reminding me how good I am even when I don’t see it myself. He believes in me more than I believe in myself, and gives me the confidence to keep pushing forward and trust myself both on and off the field.
