Patriot Athletics Welcomes New Head Coach Alicia Durante

Alicia Durante brings over 30 years of experience in San Diego lacrosse as a player, coach, and official to Patrick Henry.

Her high school coaching career began at Patrick Henry High School, where she spent three years helping establish the program’s original girls lacrosse team. She went on to serve as Varsity Head Coach at Monte Vista High School, leading the program to its first playoff appearance and producing the program’s first collegiate scholarship athlete — seven years of varsity head coaching experience in total. Alicia was also twice selected to lead the Pacific So-Cal Region team at the Women’s Division National Tournament, representing Southern California’s top high school talent on the national stage.

A native San Diegan, Alicia’s own playing career began at Coronado High School, where she served as team captain and earned MVP honors. She went on to co-found San Diego State University’s Club Lacrosse program, again earning multi-year captain and MVP honors — leading her team to the Western Women’s Lacrosse League (WWLL) Division II Championship and DII MVP award, and later earning a spot on the WWLL Division I First Team.

Alicia has also officiated lacrosse in San Diego for over 20 years, from youth through post-collegiate levels, and currently serves as Vice President of the San Diego County Lacrosse Umpire Board, where she mentors and trains new officials.

At the youth level, Alicia currently serves as Head Coach and Girls Program Director at Mission Trails Lacrosse Club, a role she’s held since 2021, and has previously coached for Adrenaline Lacrosse, Coronado Lacrosse Club, and Southswell Lacrosse. She was also a recipient of the USA Lacrosse San Diego Chapter’s All About Lacrosse Award.
